Consumed in April 2024
Film Roulette, a comforting book, and a return to motorcycle content. Tis the season!
Criterion 24/7 - Have you too logged into your Criterion app and been delighted by this new feature? It’s like watching TV when I was a kid! You tune in and watch whatever is on! So far, I have seen some classics I’ve been meaning to watch, caught snippets of some of my faves (Kelly Reichardt’s Certain Women: Oh, that’s where I saw Lily Gladstone before Reservation Dogs!), and played a guessing game. Tampopo? Tampopo!
- recommended this book in an issue of , and I am glad I immediately picked up a digital copy. I’ve been reading it here and there because it is like medicine I need when my midlife emotions get the best of me as I do my best to parent my (my! ha!) 15-year-old. Growing Each Other Up is a collection of stories about how parenting transforms us. It offers a zoomed-out perspective, a reminder that everything is going to be ok, and lessons in how the relationship endures—a beautiful recognition that parenting is a dance, a give-and-take, and that there is no switch that flips it off, not even high school graduation (impending tears, for I also have an 18-year-old!)

My first official motorcycle gathering. Maybe you can’t tell from the pics, but we joined 100 or so other riders at the MOA Getaway at the Breaks, a park on the Kentucky-Virginia border we have visited many times and just adore! The weather was perfect, we stayed in a little cottage, and enjoyed a nice hike at the Guest River Gorge.
Thanks for reading. I would love to know what you’re consuming this spring to get your creative gears turning.
